During the time that pupils spend at Burley St Matthias C E Primary, their education will be organised within:
| EYFS and Key Stage 1 | Ages 4-7 | Reception, Class 1 & Class 2 |
| Key Stage 2 | Ages 7-11 | Classes 3, 4, 5 & 6 |
The children are divided into classes of mixed ability according to age and are taught by a class teacher who has overall responsibility for their education and wellbeing. Additional help is available in some classes from a teaching assistant. Some classes also have SEN assistants working with pupils who are in receipt of funding for their additional needs. All of our classes have 30 places, and we admit up to 30 pupils into Reception every year. Our PAN (Pupil Admission Number) is 210.
SPLIT SITE
Our school is fairly unique in that it has two buildings: one on the North side of Burley Road which houses our Early Years and Key Stage 1 pupils, and one on the South side of Burley Road which houses KS2 pupils. The split site allows older and younger children to be very much part of one school, while having the chance to grow and learn in their own space in two separate buildings. Our children also benefit from daily road safety training as classes cross the road to attend Collective Worship and have their dinner!
